Course Outline:  20 hours of classroom instruction (5 hours per day maximum)
  + 10 hours of personal study time
  + 10  hours of in-vehicle driving time (2 hours max. per day)
  = 40  hours of instruction
    >>>As required by the Ministry of Transportation as of Sept. 1st, 2009

Please note - Driving sessions will start after full payment is received.

A fee will be due and payable to the in-vehicle instructor for failing to give 48 hours notice or missing an in-car lesson.

You do not have to have your G1 before you start the course.
COURSE OUTLINE:
In Car

  • rules for a G1 & G2 drivers
  • being a responsible driver
  • traffic laws
  • how driving affects insurance rates
  • road signs, traffic signals, road markings
  • mirror, signal, blind spot check
  • braking techniques
  • following distance – keep back
  • right-of-way at intersections
  • rules for right & left turns at traffic lights
  • watching traffic violations
  • sharing the road with: bicycles, buses,
  • farm equipment, buggies
  • emergency vehicles
  • train crossings
  • freeway driving – entering, exiting
  • driving at night
  • bad weather
  • road rage
  • collision avoidance
  • fatigue - drugs
  • driving after drinking alcohol

Students receive a driving evaluation to show where practice is needed before the G2 road test.

 
Instructors Car for Road Test – Fee is $160.00 (includes hST) – pick-up and drop off at home or school – One-hour refresher lesson and use of car for the G2 test.

One-hour refresher lessons - $45.00
